#NotJustSkinCancer

#NotJustSkinCancer is a project close to our hearts, and we are proud to have worked with Edelman Canada to create this educational campaign for the Melanoma Foundation and the Save Your Skin Foundation. Turning the insensitive tweets surfacing in response to tanning culture and the invisibility of melanoma into a physical presence, we created 3D printed text and embedded the insensitive words and phrases into handmade paper as watermarks. At first glance, the sheets appear as plain paper, but under the light of the sun, the phrases reveal themselves in the hands of cancer survivors. Reactions to the work by these survivors were recorded to create a powerful video campaign, exploring how overlooked this form of cancer often is.
