What Remains

“Through an abstract narrative, What remains portrays the fighting of three characters over objects of desire. The piece was inspired by Ann Carson’s poem And Reason Remains Undaunted. Because of the poem’s references to “moving greens”, I approached Paperhouse Studio to design props that would use colors, textures and shapes from nature. Following these guidelines, they designed accessories that the dancers could wear during the performance. My intention for What Remains is not to re-create the poem but to interpret aspects of it: the piece uses the three-section structure of the poem, and a blend between nature (accessories) and royalty (some gestures and movements).”
